Unleash your spirit to heavenly choral music on a crisp autumn evening! We mark the 150th birthday of Ralph Vaughan Williams and welcome our singing alumni led by the masterful René Clausen in The Lord is the Everlasting God by Jennings and other beloved works. You’ll hear RVW’s achingly beautiful Lark Ascending with soaring violin solo “singing till heaven fills” while our voices become the orchestra, Caroline Shaw’s And the Swallow setting Psalm 84, “how lovely is Thy dwelling place,” and a triumphant ancient prayer of praise in Britten’s Festival Te Deum. The sacred banquet feeds our earth-bound souls in Messiaen’s O Sacrum Convivium and Jesus Christ the Apple Tree by Poston, while Dan Forrest’s “Words from Paradise” ring out in joy and peace in Halleluia, Selah and Hosanna.
