Hail Gladdening Light
On a cold winter’s eve, Magnum Chorum delivers marvelous music to warm your soul and illuminate the darkness. Conducted by Allen Hightower, you’ll hear an otherworldly Spirit, Moving Over Chaos by David Ashley White and word becoming flesh in music by Stroope. Our centerpiece is the luminous and quietly powerful Lux Aeterna by Lauridsen in his modern Requiem evoking the light of eternity. Sunset brings the glowing reassurance of God’s presence in Tonight Eternity Alone by Clausen, Abendlied by Rheinberger and Wood’s Hail Gladdening Light for double choir. Embracing our child-like faith, This Little Light of Mine reminds us to “let it shine,” as majestic music by Gretchaninoff, Rutter and Christiansen celebrates the triumph of light over darkness in an inspired and joyful evening not to be missed!
