Composer in Residence: Paul John Rudoi

We are delighted to introduce Paul John Rudoi, our Composer in Residence this season. Paul is composing an oratorio length work for Magnum Chorum entitled Sermon on the Mount. Parts of Sermon will be featured this season in preview of the full premiere in 2016.

Described as indisputably unique, innovative, lush and lyrical, the music of Paul John Rudoi is fast becoming an important force in the worldwide choral community. His music stems from a deeply rooted passion for connecting innate human values and universal experiences. Rudoi’s award-winning compositions have been commissioned and performed by ensembles including Vancouver Chamber Singers, British Trombone Society, Anglican Singers, Cantus, The Singers, and National Lutheran Choir. His music is published through PJR Music, Graphite Publishing and Santa Barbara Music Publishing.

Paul is also a Tenor soloist and has sung with Cantus since 2008, working with respected artists including Bobby McFerrin, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and James Sewell Ballet. He holds a degree in vocal performance from the Hartt School in CT, and has studied with Libby Larsen, Mary Ellen Childs, and Edward Bolkovac.
