Sing Nowell! Sing Gloria!

Angels we have heard on high! The voices of Magnum Chorum bring the joy and wonder of Christmas to you and yours in this splendid seasonal serenade. We long for the coming of Christ in Salvator Mundi by Howells, and journey to a humble cradle for the miraculous story of the child’s birth in the Wexford Carol and Olaf Christiansen’s nostalgic Sing Nowell! Sing Gloria! With sparkling brass, your spirit will soar to In Dulci Jubilo by Praetorius and a jubilant Trinity Te Deum by Latvian composer Eriks Esenvalds. In brilliant music by our good friends, we lift up our voices in Lo, How a Rose by Craig Hella Johnson combining ancient text with The Rose made popular by Bette Midler, and a stunning new Alleluia by Composer in Residence Paul Rudoi. Beloved hymns, a rousing Nigerian carol, and Ola Gjeilo’s sonorous Sanctus with music inspired by Sting illuminate the wonder of Christmas as a “little child whose bed is straw, make new lodgings” in all of our hearts.
