All This Night My Heart Rejoices

Rejoice, rejoice! Christmas in Minnesota brings cool crisp nights and star-filled skies, and takes us on a journey back 2,000 years to the birth of the Christ child in a stable. You’ll savor Rachmaninoff’s harmonic Bogoroditse Devo from the All Night Vigil and Mealor’s glorious Spotless Rose with translucent harmonies revealing the light of Christ. All My Heart This Night Rejoices by Stoope invites all voices great and small to sing Gloria, as F.M. Christiansen’s Glorification promises “a new Hosannah shall arise!” Local composers shine as we bring you Betinis’ arrangement of In the Bleak Midwinter with harp, Heitzig’s tender little tree which cradles the sweet and nostalgic poetry of ee cummings, Love Came Down at Christmas by Nancy Grundahl, and Go Tell It on the Mountain by Carolyn Jennings. Music by Bruckner and Engelhardt, jubilant carols, and Bremer’s buoyant One Day a Little Child promise a splendid serenade for you and yours in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas and Colonial Church.
